About

Why Throughline.

Throughline Clinical builds the layer between a patient's clinical record and the questions clinicians, researchers, and manufacturers need to ask of care that has already been delivered.

throughlinenoun

The thread that runs through a whole story and connects its parts.

A patient's care is written down one encounter at a time: an admission here, a medication change there, a side effect noted in passing three visits later. Each note is complete on its own terms and nobody reads them as one story.

We do. Encounters are linked under a de-identified token, clinical facts are extracted from the narrative with the passage they came from, and the course of treatment becomes something a qualified reviewer can read, check, and aggregate.

Stage and honesty

Where this genuinely stands.

Because the fastest way to lose a serious audience is to overstate a stage they can verify.

  • In development. The method is designed and being built. It is not in production.
  • No published results. No validation study, no accuracy figure, and we will not publish a projection dressed as a result.
  • Not regulated, not cleared, not validated. Not a medical device, not a diagnostic, and not a substitute for professional judgment.
  • Engineering-led. Built by people who build and operate cloud and data systems for organizations in regulated industries.

What we look for in a design partner

  • A clinical or research counterpart to define the questions worth asking
  • Records with longitudinal coverage: enough encounters per patient, over enough time, for a course of treatment to be visible
  • A governance and data-use basis that already permits the analysis, so nothing about consent changes
  • A qualified reviewer for the escalation path, because some findings must be decided by a person
